Hey guys! The holidays have passed, the kids are back in school, and you've most likely taken your seasonal decorations down. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty particular about how that's done at my house. This year I had a retreat coming up, so I stayed up late the night before to take down the garlands and place certain items in their perfect-for-them box.

It's funny though, have you ever noticed that when someone else steps in and does the job you normally insist on doing it can actually be a good thing? Sometimes they waltz in and discover a simpler way to do a task you've complicated for no reason at all. The fear is that if we don't do it, it won't get done correctly. And while that's sometimes exactly the case, I've learned to let go and let things get done in other ways. I might not prefer the way my kids arrange the dishes in the cabinet, or in the dishwasher for that matter, but it's totally tolerable. And letting go of that control has offered a whole lot of returns over the years, cluttered cabinets aside.

I think the key is getting past initial offenses (did you really not notice how wet these spoons were?) and taking the time to address issues as they come. Sort of like a second chance for both parties. Your kids might not want a second chance to master unloading the dishwasher, but that's okay - we'll give them as many chances as they need. ;)

In love relationships, second chances are harder to come by, which is why second chance romance can be so fulfilling. I've written an entire series dedicated to that very thing, and if you haven't read it yet, now is a great time to start! For a limited time, you can get my entire SECOND CHANCES Series for under $2.

Hope you enjoy! Oh, and be sure to check out the new Texas Titan Romance novel by the wonderful Lucy McConnell! Sweet romance meets hunky football players in this awesome series from authors Taylor Hart, Cami Checketts, and Jennifer Youngblood, as well as McConnell. Be sure to check them out!

The Miracle Groom, by Lucy McConnell ~ Texas Titans Romances

Teo Parata, offensive tackle for the Texas Titans believes in miracles. He sees them every day when he looks into his son’s trusting eyes. Meeting Intern Oakley Bell at the Tiny Titan’s Football Camp was another miracle—at least he though so, until she chewed him out for being irresponsible and rude and demanding. She may have also mentioned something about an “egotistical diva football player” but he's trying to forget that part of the conversation. When he offers to take her to dinner to make up for his mistake, she accuses him of hitting on her and storms off.

Wanting only the best for his son, Teo swallows his pride and begs Oakley to be his nanny. To his relief, she accepts the job on a temporary basis. Teo has two months to convince her to stick around. When he finds out there’s more to this woman than ocean blue eyes and a way with kids, his heart begins to truly beat for the first time since his wife passed away.

Teo puts himself on the line in every football game, taking hit after hit and giving right back, but putting his heart on the line will take more than all his muscles and determination combined—it will take a miracle.
