Picture the small town of Piney Falls, an autumn festival with booths, pie contests, live music, and a crackling bonfire. Now picture a fake engagement ruse that sparks late night kisses among the flickering flames.

This is The Billionaire's (Not So) Fake Engagement.

Friends,
what to say about this 5-book series that I've poured my heart into...

I love the Benton Family!
I love their resilience, their loyalty, and their close family connection, which is what makes this finale a perfect fit!

Both Burke and Justine have longed for a close family connection. Both have experienced loss, heartache, and a sense of rejection. And both feel an absolute joy from the Benton family's embrace.

Their past struggles also make the romance between them so much sweeter! A sweetness that, thanks to Justine, Burke learns to slow down and savor.

You must read the excerpt below. It's so much fun!
I decided to put the first in the series free for a few days, so please pass it along to a friend who hasn't started the series yet.

All the details are below.
Thanks for the love and support, book friends!

Oh, and before I forget, this book also starts a fun fake fiancé series with a group of your favorite clean romance authors, to stay tuned for more.

Blessings, ♡

Kimberly Krey :)

One little nod.
Just one simple nod under pressure and Burke found himself fake-engaged to a gorgeous country girl who needed a lift.

She cries about cats dying that aren't even hers.
She turns old furniture into beautiful pieces of art.
And she tells her aging grandpa that she's engaged so he'll stop hooking her up with odd guys who come through town.

The crazy thing is, Burke might actually be falling in love with her.

Excerpt from The Billionaire's (Not So) Fake Engagement:
“Remember the mean girl I told you about? The one who bugged me about not having a mom?”
“Yeah, she was a jerk at the grocery store too,” he said with a nod. A smile stretched over his lips before she could add to it. “Wait, is she gunning for it too?”
Justine nodded. “And guess what? If she wins this year, she’ll be the first girl to win Pie Princess three years in a row.”
Burke’s jaw went hard. “That’s not going to happen.”
“It’s not?”
“Not a chance. I’m telling you, this pie is something else. But…” His eyes went wide with worry. “You guys probably don’t have a store open all night, do you?”
She grinned. “The grocery store’s not even open now.”
Burke shot the dashboard a look. “It’s not even three yet.”
“Yeah, but it’s the festival. Everything shuts down for it. What ingredients do we need?”
He shook his head. “I’m still a little disturbed that everything shuts down for this.”
She laughed and gave his arm a slap.
“We need butter,” he said, “flour, salt, vinegar. Let’s see…sugar and cinnamon, of course. Lemon juice…”
“I’ve got all of that,” Justine said. “But what’s the vinegar for?”
He puffed his chest. “The crust.”
“Hmm. Is that a secret ingredient?”
Burke nodded.
“And are there apples in this apple pie of yours?”
His expression turned chagrined. “Yes. And they have to be good ones. Granny Smith. Is it too late to get our hands on those?”
Justine considered that. “No,” she realized. “There are crates of produce stacked outside the market. We can slip a few dollar bills through the moneybox.”
“Sounds like…something that would never fly where I’m from, but that’s perfect,” Burke said. “So it’s on.”
Why did she like hearing him say that so much? “Okay,” she said. “But what about the Pie Prince contest? If I win princess, they’ll have me dance the first dance with the prince.”
“You didn’t tell me there was a contest for guys. If that’s the case, I’ll do what it takes to win.”
An untamed thrill shot through her chest. “Just like that?”
He nodded. “I’m not going to let one of these local goons twirl my fiancée around the dance floor. What do I have to do?”
“Eat a pie with your hands behind your back. Faster than the other guys.”
“Done.”
Another warm thrill sank deep into her chest. She smiled before realizing something—he probably wouldn’t be in town for the dance.
“Actually,” she said, “maybe we shouldn’t go after the titles after all.”
He tipped his head. “Why not?”
“Because the dance happens the day after Thanksgiving at the tree lighting ceremony.”
“The tree lighting ceremony?” His brow furrowed. “Man, they really keep you busy, don’t they?”
She chuckled, then sighed, hating the idea of Burke not being around for that. “It’s okay,” she said. “What you’re doing…what you’ve done, it’s already so generous. I don’t want to keep you up all night and force you to scarf down pie and worry about…”
She stopped there when she realized his eye had wandered. Justine studied him as his gaze followed something through the window.
At once he set his eyes back on her. He searched her face for the slightest moment, and then moved in as if he were about to kiss her.
“Hold still,” he urged under his breath. He moved in closer then, gliding his cheek ever so gently, teasingly, against hers. “I don’t mind coming back for the tree-lighting,” he said under his breath.
Goosebumps rippled up her arms as his facial scruff tickled her skin. He settled very close to her ear where his hot breath caused yet another round of goosebumps to surface.
She froze in place, unwilling to disrupt as he pressed a soft, heated kiss just above her jaw. His lips trailed over her skin, his breath teasing along the way, until he was at her earlobe again.
A deep wave of bliss rushed through her, settling low in her tummy.
“They’re watching us,” he rasped in a whisper.
She managed something she hoped he’d take as a nod, though she barely dared move for fear it would stop him. In truth, she did not want the moment, so very much like the one from her dream, to end.
At that thought, he came in once more, pressing the slightest kiss on her earlobe before circling the tiny diamond stud with his teasing lips.
Justine fisted the blanket in her lap as more goosebumps came.
“Sorry,” he said, the word barely audible as he kissed her cheek once more. He pulled back then, slid a finger along her jaw, and fixed those blue eyes on her. He looked so…calm compared to her.
Justine forced her fist to soften. She smoothed out the blanket beneath her hand as she worked to form an intelligible word.
“The game is afoot, princess,” he said with a wink. He grinned triumphantly. “I’ll get your door.” And then he was pushing his own door open and climbing out.
A jagged breath passed through her lips as he circled the car. The game was afoot, was it? It seemed so. It also appeared that Burke was a seasoned all-star while she was a mere novice.
Tonight’s event would be different from a quiet, meet-the-parent type of situation they’d had with Gramps. They were supposed to be an engaged couple. At least Burke seemed to know what he was doing. Thank heavens.
Now it was her job to keep up.

The Snapshot Bride is here!

~ Kimberly Krey

Love is in the air in Cobble Creek—for everyone but Anthony Marino. Month after month the owner of Tony’s Diner watches happy couples stroll through that bell-chiming door, and he can’t help but wonder if it will ever be him. The winds shift drastically in his favor when Kira Moretti rings that very same bell. During a childhood visit to Cobble Creek, the outgoing girl pegged him with his first kiss. When she sets those brown eyes on him years later, he’s pleased to find the feelings are still there. But is Kira here to stay, or does she—like the other women in Anthony’s past—have her eyes set on a different life?

It’s no surprise that Kira Moretti has an imperfect past that soiled the family name. So when Grandpa Moretti leaves his Cobble Creek photography studio to her in his will, Kira’s determined to prove herself worthy. Cobble Creek is just as charming as she remembered, and even better—so is the handsome guy from Tony’s Diner. Chemistry between them sparks fast, and soon Kira’s certain she’s right where she needs to be. But when someone from her past shows, offering long-sought redemption, Kira has to make a choice. Stay with the man she’s just fallen in love with, or take the offer and risk losing him forever.

REESE'S COWBOY KISS
Texan pageant winner, Reese Taylor, has a former classmate who wants her dead. Now she must leave her friends and family to enter a protection program on Emerson Ranch. A group of good-looking cowboys awaits her, but Reese has her eye on Blake Emerson, the one man too busy with the ranch to give her a chance. Blake Emerson has no time to go lookin' for love. He's got a ranch to run, positions to fill, and an ache in his heart from love gone wrong. So when he agrees to harbor a witness to help on the ranch, Blake assumes his first two problems are solved. But he never dreamed his new guest would be a woman. One he was destined to lose his heart to. With sparks burning hot and danger around the bend, one question lingers in his mind: Has he only added to his list of troubles, or has Blake just found the woman of his dreams? * Though this novel is considered clean romance, it does contain passionate kissing and a few minor curse words. *

JADE'S COWBOY CRUSH

Single mother, Jade Miller, has just witnessed a murder. Now, set to testify against the cold-blooded killer, Jade must be placed under protection. While she is grateful to the kind folks who've offered to take in her and her son, Jade is surprised to find the man escorting them from L.A. to Montana is Gavin Emerson. A womanizing, far-too-attractive-for-his-own-good, rebel cowboy. Jade assures Gavin that she has sworn off men until her son is grown, but all too soon she finds herself fighting back feelings for the man who's agreed to care for them. Gavin wants nothing to do with ranch life. Not since the ugly fallout he had with his father over eight years ago. But when he agrees to come back, harboring Jade and her son for a time, Gavin falls in love with life on the land once again. Above that, he finds his heart has been captured by his lovely house guest, Jade Miller. After reservations on both parts, the two are finally ready to open up and give their new-found love a try. Only they aren't in the clear just yet, and as a dark and deadly threat falls upon them, Gavin finds that his bad-boy past may have led the danger right to their door. *Though this novel is considered clean romance, it does contain passionate kissing scenes and a few mild curse words.*

CASSIE'S COWBOY CRAVE

Twenty-four-year-old Cassie Lovell has a great job, good friends, and an apartment with a killer view. That is, until life is turned upside down. Without the chance to say goodbye, Cassie is forced into a witness protection program on Emerson Ranch. Just when she fears life is doomed, Cassie meets Shane Emerson, the stunningly handsome cowboy who'll be posing as her newlywed groom. Shane Emerson is determined not to fall for the woman he's agreed to harbor. Especially since the whole thing was his family's way of trying to get him hitched. So why is it when he takes Cassie into his home, Shane wants nothing more than to turn their make-believe marriage into more than just a sham? In a moment of weakness, Shane steals a kiss. In return, Cassie steals his heart. Yet before they confess their undying love, a hidden danger threatens to tear them apart. *Though this novel is considered clean romance, it contains passionate kissing & a few mild curse words.

ROUGH EDGES

Divorced mother, Allie Emerson, never imagined she’d be raising two teenage girls on her own. Between parenting and paying the bills, she hasn’t even thought about meeting a man. That changes once she hears local carpenter, Braden Fox, is in need of a secretary. Back in high school, Allie had done all she could to deny the sparks burning between her and Braden; but would the chemistry still be there after all this time? Braden has heard all about what Terrance did to Allie and the girls, has been planning to stop by and see how she’s getting along, but Allie beats him to it by showing up at his shop in search of a job. Her unexpected visit reignites the old flame Braden used to torch for her; trouble is, old feelings of resentment return as well. Allie did choose Terrance over him, after all. And as much as Braden wants Allie in his life, he’s not sure he can open his heart to her again. With this second chance at romance, will the bumps in their relationship be too much to get over, or will this carpenter learn to smooth out the past?

Get Your Free Cowboy Romance Read!

Want to hear what makes Jade's Cowboy Crush so dear to my heart? I'll tell you below.
But first, let me ask you something:

Have you got Cowboy Romance?
Do you wish (very badly with all your sweet little heart) that you had more?

Would you like to download one for free today? (The answer to these questions is yes, by the way.)

Good. I'm glad you said yes because Jade's Cowboy Crush, from Amazon's best-selling Sweet Montana Bride Series, will be free May 28th, 29th & 30th. The Sweet Montana Bride stories feature handsome cowboys who offer witness protection - rancher style - to women in need.

Now for what makes this story really stand out to me.
Jade's Cowboy Crush is all about inner journeys (with a giant helping of romance on the side).
See, Jade is a single mom who's independent, strong-willed, and dead-set on staying single until her young son is grown. In this story she'll have to learn to rely on other people, and trust her instincts even when it terrifies her.

Now Gavin is someone who's made a lot of mistakes. He left some pretty bad choices in his past, but finds that they make their way back to him at the very worst time. Gavin is flirtatious, fun, and a better man than he realizes. In this story, he must learn to forgive himself to overcome his demons.

To hear more about the book you can read the blurb below. Even better, you can go to Amazon and download it FOR FREE now! OH! And guess what? Once you purchase the ebook (even if it's a free purchase) you can get the audio for an amazingly reduced rate! And then you can listen to it while you drive or cook or clean or do laundry or snack on things like steamed broccoli with lemon juice and salt. (Mmm - one of my favorites!)

Single mother, Jade Miller, has just witnessed a murder. Now, set to testify against the cold-blooded killer, Jade must be placed under protection. While she is grateful to the kind folks who’ve offered to take in her and her son, Jade is surprised to find the man escorting them from L.A. to Montana is Gavin Emerson. *Though this novel is considered clean romance, it contains passionate kissing & a few mild curse words.*

Paperback Giveaways on Goodreads!

Yeah, yeah. I know. Many of us rarely buy paperbacks anymore. But that doesn't mean we don't enjoy the weight of a book in our hands as we read. Or the feel of those edges beneath our fingers as we flip through each page one by one. And let's not forget about the visual satisfaction of watching the end grow near, evident in those ever thinning pages.

So why am I tempting you with all of this imagery? Because I'm giving away paperbacks! Six, to be exact. The first to each of my series. Three paperbacks of Reese's Cowboy Kiss, book one in my Sweet Montana Bride Series. And three of Rough Edges, the first in my Second Chances Series.

Below you'll find the covers to each, along with a book blurb to whet your romance-reading appetite. Oh you'll also find links to the giveaways, which run through May 26th. But first let me assure you that each of these books, along with all of my published works, is available in ebook as well, for just $3.99 or less. And if you're part of that borrowing program with kindle? Yep, you can get them that way too.

Now for a bit about the books:

First we have Reese's Cowboy Kiss, which features witness protection - rancher style.

Blake Emerson has no time to go lookin’ for love. He’s got a ranch to run, positions to fill, and an ache in his heart from love gone wrong.

Next is Rough Edges, a companion to the Sweet Montana Bride Series as well as the start of a new.

And as much as Braden wants Allie in his life, he’s not sure he can open his heart to her again.

With this second chance at romance, will the bumps in their relationship be too much to get over, or will this carpenter learn to smooth out the past?

Though this is considered clean romance it does contain passionate kissing, and a few mild swear words.

Free Cowboy Romance Read

The Longest Ride has been out for less than a week. (Find my thoughts on the movie here.) Cowboy romance is on the screen, in the air, and on your kindles too, right? Well today you can add another to your collection for free on Amazon.

Cassie's Cowboy Crave, from Amazon's best-selling Sweet Montana Bride Series, will be free April 14, 15, and 16th. The Sweet Montana Bride stories feature handsome cowboys who offer witness protection - rancher style - to women in need.

Cassie’s words dangled in the air like an invitation, warm and welcome. He couldn’t likely bring her home without a simple kiss, now, could he? When their eyes met, Shane tilted his head, asking for permission with the lift of his brow. She nodded slightly – a silent response – yet the best thing he’d heard in weeks – Yes.

Twenty-four-year-old Cassie Lovell has a great job, good friends, and an apartment with a killer view. That is, until life is turned upside down. Without the chance to say goodbye, Cassie is forced into a witness protection program on Emerson Ranch. Just when she fears life is doomed, Cassie meets Shane Emerson, the stunningly handsome cowboy who’ll be posing as her newlywed groom. Shane Emerson is determined not to fall for the woman he’s agreed to harbor. Especially since the whole thing was his family’s way of trying to get him hitched.

My thoughts on Movie, The Longest Ride

(Photo found : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2726560/)

On Friday, some of my writer friends and I went to see The Longest Ride. A sneak-away-while-the-kids-are-at-school kind of thing. We did not forget the popcorn (extra butter, please) or drinks (Sprite & popcorn are BFFs, you know). We even had chocolate covered cinnamon bears to make it all complete. We'd watched the movie trailer a good dozen times or so. I had already downloaded albums from the artists featured in the main trailer. (Hozier and Banks - both are wonderful by the way, though some songs in Banks' album contain strong language.)

I really enjoyed The Longest Ride. It was especially fun for me to watch since I write novels featuring cowboys! I don't normally blog about movies, but I decided to share some of my thoughts since I've had a few fans contact me about the then-upcoming show, saying they developed their original love for cowboys by reading my very own Sweet Montana Bride Series. (Woot, woot!)

This movie had my interest from the get-go. The actors were convincing, brilliant, and a true joy to watch. Luke, played by Scott Eastwood, is a seriously handsome cowboy who rides bulls, lives on a ranch, and helps provide for his widowed mother. Sophia, played by Britt Robertson, is an ambitious art student who left home to pursue her goal involving a big time job in New York City. I loved how this girl wasn't typically into cowboys, but she could not help but fall in love with Luke; we don't blame her a bit.

In true Nicholas Sparks style, there was another tale weaved into this love story, and a beautiful one at that. When the couple comes upon Ira, an elderly man who's been in an accident, they become part of his life. Through frequent visits, Sophia hears the development of Ira and Ruth's romance, told through the reading of old letters. The unfolding of this tale was well-paced and very touching. In fact, there were many moments that had me wiping at silent tears. Of course, there were plenty of smiles, and a few good laughs as well.

One of my favorite moments was *(do not read if you don't want a tiny spoiler)* when Luke - this gorgeous cowboy - walks onto a college campus with his cowboy boots, snap-up shirt, and a bouquet of flowers in hand to pick up his date. He looked adorably out of place and it totally cracked me up.

*Content: This movie is rated PG-13 and showed a bit more than I anticipated during one of the love scenes.

For those craving more cowboy romance, check out the Sweet Montana Bride Series on Amazon now, 3.99 ea. Each stand alone novel features a contemporary cowboy offering witness protection - rancher style - to a woman in need. (See blurb on book one below.) Also available on audio.

Blake Emerson has no time to go lookin’ for love. He’s got a ranch to run, positions to fill, and an ache in his heart from love gone wrong.

So have you seen The Longest Ride? Read the book? Plan to do either or both? And just how did you develop your first love for cowboys?

Rough Edges
(Second Chances #1)
by Kimberly Krey
Paperbook & ebook, 322 Pages
January 23rd 2015

Rough Edges starts off my newest series, Second Chances ñ a companion to the Sweet Montana Bride series. Featuring some of the characters you know and love, this series will give Allie, Logan, and a new character, Bree, (you'll meet her in Allie's story) a second chance at romance. If you haven't read the Sweet Montana Bride series, no worries. This series, as well as each book within, will stand alone just fine. Now for a bit about the book.

Divorced mother, Allie Emerson, never imagined sheíd be raising two teenage girls on her own. Between parenting and paying the bills, she hasnít even thought about meeting a man. That changes once she hears local carpenter, Braden Fox, is in need of a secretary. Back in high school, Allie had done all she could to deny the sparks burning between her and Braden; but would the chemistry still be there after all this time?

Braden has heard all about what Terrance did to Allie and the girls. Heís been planning to stop by and see how sheís getting along, but Allie beats him to it by showing up at his shop in search of a job. Her unexpected visit reignites the old flame Braden used to torch for her; trouble is, old feelings of resentment return as well. Allie did choose Terrance over him, after all. And as much as Braden wants Allie in his life, heís not sure he can open his heart to her again.

With a second chance at romance, will the bumps in their relationship be too much to get over, or will this carpenter learn to smooth out the past?

Allie Emerson gets her happy ending at last in my new release, Rough Edges, available now on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

With a second chance at romance, will the bumps in their relationship be too much to get over, or will this carpenter learn to smooth out the past?

Now for an excerpt from the book:

Their eyes met once more, and a shot of heat flooded his chest like a liquid bolt of lightening, forcing his pulse to rush. “I’ve missed you,” he blurted.
Her eyes widened in response, and Braden wondered if he’d been too bold. He’d hardly meant to speak it. It’d been more of a thought. A longing, really.
At last she nodded. “Yeah,” she said, her voice soft and low. “I … I’ve been wondering about you too. How you’ve been over the years. I kept asking Terrance who you were dating. If you were close to marrying anyone…” Her words drifted off for a breath, but then she spoke up again. “You admitted that you’d turned down our offers to come to dinner and catch up.” She studied him for a moment, a challenge presented in her gaze. “All those years. Why didn’t you just come?”
“You know why.” He’d nearly spoken over her, but he couldn’t help it.
“No, Braden, I don’t.”
He nodded adamantly, taking a step back and folding his arms. “Think about it, Allie.” ...
“I have thought about it –”
“Not nearly enough, apparently,” he snapped.
“I’ve thought about it all these years. It hurt my feelings. I thought we were friends.”
... Braden bit back his words and broke into a pace.
“Braden,” she said, “I wanted you to stay a part of our lives. You were the best influence Terrance had and you just stopped being his friend? Why would you do that?”
Braden froze in place. “I was a better friend to him than you’ll ever know.” Or possibly the worst, he realized. He strode back, his gaze set on her. “And I didn’t want to be your friend, Allie. I wanted more than that and you know it.”
Her face fell flat. Her lips parted. But no words came. She cleared her throat, casting her eyes to the floor. “Yeah,” he said. “Don’t pretend that you don’t know. I made it clear. And as soon as I did you started setting me up with every friend you had. Including Kayla.”
“That’s not…” Her face flushed red. Her lips tightened. “That’s not how it went, Braden.” The silence that followed was painful. The tension wedged in each passing second pressed at Braden’s last nerve.
“Well,” he said, “this has been a nice trip down memory lane, but if you don’t mind I’ve got to get back to work. Come on out when you’re ready.” He turned away from her in one quick jerk and walked out of the kitchen, one long stride after the next.

Reese's Cowboy Kiss:
Texan pageant winner, Reese Taylor, has a former classmate who wants her dead. Now she must leave her friends and family to enter a protection program on Emerson Ranch. A group of good-looking cowboys awaits her, but Reese has her eye on Blake Emerson, the one man too busy with the ranch to give her a chance. Blake Emerson has no time to go lookin’ for love. He’s got a ranch to run, positions to fill, and an ache in his heart from love gone wrong. *

Jade's Cowboy Crush:
Single mother, Jade Miller, has just witnessed a murder. Now, set to testify against the cold-blooded killer, Jade must be placed under protection. While she is grateful to the kind folks who’ve offered to take in her and her son, Jade is surprised to find the man escorting them from L.A. to Montana is Gavin Emerson. A womanizing, far-too-attractive-for-his-own-good, rebel cowboy. Jade assures Gavin that she has sworn off men until her son is grown, but all too soon she finds herself fighting back feelings for the man who’s agreed to care for them. Only they aren’t in the clear just yet, and as a dark and deadly threat falls upon them, Gavin finds that his bad-boy past may have led the danger right to their door. *Though this novel is considered clean romance, it contains passionate kissing & a few mild curse words.*

Cassie's Cowboy Crave:
Twenty-four-year-old Cassie Lovell has a great job, good friends, and an apartment with a killer view. That is, until life is turned upside down. Without the chance to say goodbye, Cassie is forced into a witness protection program on Emerson Ranch. Just when she fears life is doomed, Cassie meets Shane Emerson, the stunningly handsome cowboy who’ll be posing as her newlywed groom. Shane Emerson is determined not to fall for the woman he’s agreed to harbor. Especially since the whole thing was his family’s way of trying to get him hitched. *Though this novel is considered clean romance, it contains passionate kissing & a few mild curse words.*

It's the Swoonys, Baby!!

Guess what?
Reese's Cowboy Kiss has been nominated for a Swoony Award! Not only that, it's ranked among the top twenty of over three hundred books!
Never heard of a Swoony Award before? Have no fear. This post will answer all your questions, and introduce you to some of the best in the book-blogging biz...

What Are the Swoony Awards?
The Swoony Awards were created to recognize excellence in clean fiction. There are so many books published every day and it can be hard to find the ones worth reading. We want to help recognize authors who write entertaining books that are wholesome. It’s our hope that each year we will help provide everyone with a great list of books to read and maybe introduce them to new authors.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
-Publication Year: Only books published during the current contest year may be nominated. To be fair to all books, contest dates will run from December 1, 2013 – November 31, 2014.
-Clean romance: No sex or closed door, low/mild innuendo. Only M/F romances.
-Language: None/mild, anything over a handful of profanity (especially the more offensive words) would not be considered clean.
-Violence: None/mild
-Other: Nothing overly dark, depressing or heavy subject matter

Novels, novellas and short stories are all eligible for nomination, no limits on page number. Any (clean) genre is eligible (i.e. contemporary, fantasy, mystery, historical, etc.).

Each voter is able to choose up to 100 books to vote on or nominate each contest year. There is no cap on the overall number of books nominated.

How Are Winners Selected?
We will be accepting entries throughout the year and the winners announced the first week in January. There are fifteen award categories (i.e. Best Novel of the Year, Best Historical, Best Contemporary, etc.). Winner’s will be announced via our blogs (Bookworm Nation, KJ’s Book Nook and Katie’s Clean Book Reviews) and through Goodreads Swoony Awards Group.

Since this is a reader’s choice award the winners are determined by a combination of the number of votes received and how high the voter rated the book and what rank the voter gave each book they voted for.

Who Are We?

Kathy
Kathy (Bookworm Nation)
I've been hosting a book review blog, Bookworm Nation, for over five years. I love to read and review books. And of course, I love to discuss books! A few years ago I started the Goodreads group, Happily Ever After Book Club. It's through Goodreads that I met Katie, Kathy Jo and Heidi and while discussing our love of books one day we thought it'd be fun to host our own Reader's Choice award. We're excited to introduce the Swoony's this year, it's going really well and we look forward to hosting it for years to come.

This may come as a shocker but I have NOT always been a little bookworm. In fact growing up I was not the kid you saw jumping at the chance to read. I was the one that just did it to make my teachers happy. That silent reading time during school?! Yeah.. I was the kid napping! ;) About 12 years ago someone loaned me a book and said I just HAD to read it. I took it just to get them off my back and much to my surprise I could NOT put it down! And from then on I would read... but only that one author. I refused to read anything else! It wasn't until 2009 when 2 of my favorite people introduced me to the Twilight Series that I actually started branching out. And ever since then I haven't been able to STOP reading! ;) About 5 months ago I decided to start a book blog and I have been loving it! I get to be another voice for all the amazing authors that I love! How cool is that?! And of course through my adventures in reading I have been able to meet some amazing women who love books just as much as, if not more than, me! I love chatting with them about all the books we read! We have become such great friends that at times I forget that I've never really met them in person! Books just have a way of bringing people together! My reading choices vary... I love a lot of different genres. With that said... I am not ashamed to admit that I am a romantic and I love fluff! As long as it's clean and has a HEA, I'll definitely give it a try! Any book that gives me a break from reality and puts a smile on my face is definitely a book for me!

Katie (Katie's Clean Book Collection)
I started blogging about a year and a half ago. I've always loved to read and talk about books--it's my obsession. The first book I learned to read on my own was Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham. I love a lot of different genres, but my favorite is clean romance, which is perfect for the Swoony's! I've had a blast meeting new friends who enjoy the same types of books that I do.

Heidi
Heidi
I'm a mother of four amazing kids and married to my own Prince Charming. I love to read, kiss my handsome Prince, bake, run (because I love to bake), ride horses, play sports, and spend time with my little family. I first fell in love with reading at a very young age because of my sweet grandmother who always took the time to read me my favorite books over and over again. She could never tell me no. My wonderful mother is also entirely addicted to reading and we love to "talk books" late into the night....and plot how we are going to buy more. :) I adore clean, happily ever after books, and I've loved getting to know so many other women who do as well. Who knew books would be the reason I would meet some of the dearest people in the world?!

Rough Edges Cover Reveal

I'm thrilled to present the cover to my upcoming novel, Rough Edges. A companion to the Sweet Montana Bride Series, this sweet story provides a closer look at Allie Emerson. Some of you might know her from novels Reese's Cowboy Kiss and Jade's Cowboy Crush. From one story to the next, we see this adorable character go from supportive wife of a selfish man, to a recently divorced woman raising two girls on her own. With Terrance out of her life for good, it's time for Allie to finally get her happy ending. And what better place to start than Fox's Custom Woodwork, where Braden Fox acts as both owner and carpenter. Oh, and did I happen to mention that he's Terrance's old best friend?

Now for the cover to what will be the forth part to the Sweet Montana Bride series.

Since most of us skip the paperback and go right for the ebook, the back covers are often left unseen. For that reason, I thought I'd include the backside as well, along with the spine. I love this one because it includes a rare and beautiful glimpse into Braden's wood shop, a place I have come to love through discovering more about these characters and their past.

And in case you can't read it from the pic, here's the book blurb:

Divorced mother, Allie Emerson, never imagined she’d be raising two teenage girls on her own. Between parenting and paying the bills, she hasn’t even thought about meeting a man. That changes once she hears local carpenter, Braden Fox, is in need of a secretary. Back in high school, Allie had done all she could to deny the sparks burning between her and Braden; perhaps now they could explore the possibilities.

Braden has heard all about what Terrance did to Allie and the girls, has been planning to stop by and see how she’s getting along, but Allie beats him to it by showing up at his shop in search of a job. Her single visit reignites the old flame Braden used to torch for her; trouble is, old feelings of resentment return as well. Allie did choose Terrance over him, after all. And as much as Braden wants Allie in his life, he’s not sure he can open his heart again.

With this second chance at romance, will the bumps in their relationship be too much to get over, or will this carpenter learn to smooth out the past?

Rough Edges will be available on Amazon soon. For updates, sign up for my email list by clicking here. Also receive updates on my FB author page here.
